公开课是每位教师展现教学思想和教学能力的舞台，是教师相互学习，取长补短的良机。从教师个人角度看，这是一个展示自己教学水平，同时也是锻炼个人教学能力的机会；从听课教师角度看，这是一个观摩学习，学习优秀教师的教学方法的重要机会。
